Do You Want Me To Speak At Your Event?

After selling my company in 2022, I began having conversations with entrepreneurs all over the world.

It wasn’t long before I realized that the knowledge I had acquired over 25 years of entrepreneurship was incredibly valuable to other entrepreneurs. So I started sharing my lessons learned on TikTok. I went viral and my TikTok community quickly grew to over 20,000 people interested in bootstrapping and entrepreneurship. They had hundreds of questions, and those questions led to more videos. But people still wanted more!

They wanted to connect at virtual and in-person events, where they would have the opportunity to ask questions. But I noticed that most of these requests came from outside the San Francisco Bay Area (where I live), in places where there are not large communities of experienced tech entrepreneurs. So I decided to hit the road.

Last week I led a discussion about entrepreneurship in Buffalo, New York at 43North, a startup accelerator there. We had a great turnout, despite a global tech meltdown that prevented some of our attendees from driving in from Canada. As has been the case with all of the events I have done, the Q&A was on fire and could have probably continued for another hour!

Now I am planning my next round of travel and out-of-town events. In September I will be headed to Montreal. In November I will be speaking to Cambridge University’s Edinburgh chapter of Camentrepreneurs as well as elsewhere in the UK. On the way back to San Francisco I will stop in Boston and pay a visit to the Nelson Center for Entrepreneurship at Brown University.

I am trying to build a paid speaking business for my next chapter. But for now I am donating my time and focusing on learning, experimenting and connecting with as many entrepreneurs as possible to hear what they need and what resonates the most.
